NYS NEEDS OF CHILDREN WITH AUTISM

NYS Needs of Children with Autism — 3 hours ($60*)

New York State Legislation enacted Chapter 143 of the laws of 2006 to amend Sections 3004(4) and (5) of the Education Law to require that all persons applying for a teaching certificate or license on or after February 2, 2007, as a special education teacher or as a school administrator, who works in special education, complete course work or training in the needs of children with Autism Spectrum Disorders.

This training meets the new requirements for certified teachers and administrators in New York State and is designed to instruct professionals such as special educators and administrators. NYS MANDATED CHILD ABUSE

NYS Mandated Child Abuse Course Online – 2 Hours ($45*)

The objective of this training initiative is to provide every New York State mandated reporter with the knowledge and skills to be able to: 

  1. Effectively report child abuse or maltreatment/neglect to the NYS Child Abuse and Maltreatment Register
  2. Evaluate situations to determine whether there is reasonable cause to suspect child abuse or maltreatment
  3. Identify the physical and behavioral indicators commonly associated with child abuse.

In New York State, specific professionals are “mandated” by law to report cases of suspected child abuse and maltreatment. This online course will teach participants to report any suspected child abuse or maltreatment. Participants will fulfill requirement mandated in the New York State Education Department Education Law Title VIII Article 130  Sub article 2 §6507 Administration by the Education Department Paragraph 3 (a).  This course is approved by the New York State Office of Children and Family services (OCFS).  An online posttest is included. Click here. 

NYS MANDATED HEALTH INFECTION CONTROL

NYS Mandated Health Infection Control – 4 hours ($55*)

The goal of the infection control training is to:

  1. Assure that licensed, registered, or certified health professionals understand how bloodborne pathogens may be transmitted in the work environment: patient to healthcare worker, healthcare worker to patient, and patient to patient;
  2. Apply current scientifically accepted infection prevention and control principles as appropriate for the specific work environment;
  3. Minimize opportunity for transmission of pathogens to patients and healthcare workers; and
  4. Familiarize professionals with the law requiring this training and the professional misconduct charges that may be applicable for not complying with the law.

In New York State, specific professionals are “mandated” by law to participate in Infection Control course.  In this online course, participants will learn how to implement infection control principles in their occupational settings. Students will fulfill requirement mandated in the New York State Education Department Education Law Title VIII Article 130 Sub article 1 §6505-b Course Work or Training in Infection Control Practices.  Participant materials will be provided. NYS Department of Health and NYS Office of Professions approved this course.  An online posttest is included. Click here.

INFECTION CONTROL FOR CHILD CARE WORKERS

Infection Control for Child Care Workers – 4 hours ($55*)

The goal of the infection control training is to assure childcare professionals understand how bloodborne pathogens may be transmitted in the work environment. Apply current scientifically accepted infection prevention and control principles as appropriate for the specific work environment.
